Jackky Bhagnani, Priya Anand, Rajpal Yadav and Amitosh Nagpal starrer Rangrezz released on March 21, 2013 and received negative reviews from all critics. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani under Pooja Entertainment. It is a Hindi remake of Tamil hit film Naadodigal, which has already been remade in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Rangrezz is essentially a tale of friendship, with a love story integrated in the plotline.
Madhureeta Mukherjee – Timesofindia: “‘Rangrezz’, Priyadarshan’s remake of a Tamil film, has a story without a convincing purpose, point or plan. There are ample well-shot scenes ( Santosh Sivan), good performances (strong supporting cast) and sweet moments; though the film shows little bit of everything and doesn’t leave you with much.”Click here to continue
Taran Adarsh - Bollywood Hungama: “Remake of the Tamil film NAADODIGAL , which was remade in various Indian languages subsequently, RANGREZZ is essentially a tale of friendship, with a love story integrated in the plotline. Sadly, it runs out of fizz in its post-interval portions, after leaving quite an impression in the first hour”. Click here to continue
Saibal Chatterjee - NDTV: “This is an elemental film, not the least apologetic about serving up a spicy dish. The Bihar-Uttar Pradesh dialectic dialogues come across self-consciously the way they are mouthed by the two actors – Pankaj Tripathi and Lushin Dubey, playing warring politican-parents of lovers-on-the-run” Click here to continue.
Raja Sen - Rediff: ”Rangrezz is a powerful film about three seemingly aimless youngsters living in the chawls of Mumbai, who are blinded by the idea of friendship, and see nothing wrong in risking their lives in the name of friendship.Their humble background has probably rendered them with large hearts, but not-so-large ambitions as their idea of a better future is restricted to securing middle-class jobs”. Subhash K.Jha - Zee News: ”Now in ‘Rangrezz’, the question is spun into a spunky dizzying drama of brutal love and betrayal. When love comes to shove, all hell breaks loose. It`s been a while since Priyadarshan made us sit up and watch in rapt attention. Visually and in terms of the content, ‘Rangrezz’ is his best work in years.Click here to continue
